I know ...Oh Jess.. you know how to make a mama cry. I know so clearly what it's like to realize that my girl is human and will feel pain and that I might not always be able to soothe it. I remember our first months living abroad and hearing her say 'they won't play with me' and seeing her cry because she didn't even have the words to say 'can I play too?'.. and I didn't have the words either (some days I still don't). Ugh. Bless you for teaching kindness and tolerance and that we raise good girls and not bullies. Although, I will tell you.. one day my kiddo hit another kid (oh my 4 year old, how frustrating the world seems some days). We are absolutely not hitters and were appalled. I told her 'we don't hit and we especially don't hit our friends'.. know what she said? 'mom, that kid wasn't my friend'.. oh lordy. I have since amended the sentence to 'we don't touch with not nice hands..ever'. :) sending a big hug to you. xoxo Liz Liznoreply@blogger.com
